JONATHAN WAKEFIELD is an average American who lived his first 32 years with almost no political engagement other than voting. But during the financial crisis of 2008, he awoke to how fragile America had become as a result of the expansion of governmental power under both major political parties, and he has since committed to working toward shifting much of that power back to the People. As a political independent, he has been a leader in the Tea Party movement since 2009, serving on the Board of Directors of the Richmond Tea Party in Virginia. He has been involved in helping craft and push for the passage of various legislation, organizing numerous rallies and events of all sizes, and publically advocating for Tea Party principles, including interviewing on GBTV, PJTV, Tea Party Express Radio, NRA radio, and others.
Professionally, Jonathan is an information technology specialist and a freelance writer. He blogs regularly on political and religious topics and has written for an array of print and online publications, including the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Broadsidebooks.net, New Man, Men of Integrity, and Live. Saving America is a book he didn’t want to write, but felt compelled to in the face of America’s current crises. He also writes apolitical fiction. His short stories have appeared in The Rose & Thorn and The Messenger, and his debut novel, Fatal Reality (a thriller), was released in 2011.
